What we do
We work to improve services and address social challenges. Our methods include social anthropological research, design, film and workshops. We work with the public and service providers to co-design products and services. Our services are designed to support 21st Century public sector reform and are transferable across all public services.
Challenges we help solve
Thinkpublic helps organisations to involve their users and engage their staff to create innovative strategies for positive improvements.
Common challenges raised with us are:
We want to provide a sustainable, world class service
"How can we capture, understand and use patient and staff experience to innovate health services?"
Aiming to understand and utilise patient and staff experiences of the health services, thinkpublic developed the leading model of staff and patient led service improvement. This model generated huge interest, from the government through to individual nurses, and is currently being rolled out across the NHS.
We want to work and involve our service users
"How can we involve people with dementia in designing better services?"
thinkpublic developed a range of techniques to engage and involve people with dementia, their carers and service providers. Together we identified opportunities to improve the lives of people living with dementia and co-designed products and services to achieve this.
We want to spread best practice across our organisation
"How can we share our learning nationally?"
Facilitating the transfer of services from the hospital into the community, thinkpublic worked alongside a Primary Care Trust to re-design their clinic services. Using creative thinking techniques, we used this experience to co-design the 'Clinic In A Box' tool kit for use by NHS Trusts across the country, allowing them to make the same changes.
We want to improve the user experience of my service
"How can we get more people involved in volunteering?"
Aiming to increase the number of volunteers in the UK Health Sector, thinkpublic worked with the national volunteering charity TimeBank to design innovative user-friendly volunteering opportunities in health. In partnership with NHS Foundation Trusts we formulated a 'Dragons' Den' to provide advice, support and funding to volunteer groups. This initiative entitled 'Journeys to Health' has seen a significant growth in the number of volunteers recruited to work in this sector.
