How can we raise awareness of hypertension in sub-saharan Africa?

The challenge

To develop low-tech and creative methods to engage and educate sub-saharan African communities in their own health and wellbeing.


Our approach

We designed a 12-week innovation process, which included field research to gain insights and then co-designing and build service concepts. Followed by live prototyping two service ideas in Tanzania and Kenya, whilst developing a social business model.


The outcome

We developed an SMS service called Mama Moyo (meaning Mother Heart) that provide people with daily tips and advice around exercise and diet.
